So I need to watch more movies. For a starting point, I'm going to list the imdb top 250 and bottom 100, for my own reference as a to-do list, and to preserve the current state of the list so that i can spot new additions when i finish the first pass. Ones I have seen are bolded. Partially seen movies don't count. I guess you can turn it into some meme bullshit and repost it in your journal.

Top 250: 107 (42.8%) seen, and I own 2 movies on the list that i haven't watched yet. Not a bad start.
Bottom 100: 3 seen.
So, here we attempt a grand journey of self-discovery. I'm working on losing weight and becoming more assertive. It's probably too late for me to be the next Crowley, but I've still got plenty of time to be an amoral son of a bitch. I'm going to start trying social things again, and just try to overcome the social anxiety through immersion and pure fucking dedication. Anybody want to help drag my ass out of the house?
Creative endeavors would be nice, but for now I need to deal with redoing the house so Katie and I have places to work. I'm probably going to attempt a big cleanout of the basement in the next month.

Strange dreams last night. First, I was stuck in a town without houses. It was like an endless suburban office park. Small beige brick buildings, maybe 4-5 sharing a parking lot, with no labelled addresses, connected to unnamed streets stretching on forever. All the building have little brass name plaques on the front of the building, but the names are just random word salad. "Argh Pineapple Division", nonsensical shit like that. Some of them have the same names, but numbered in a series. Buildings of similar name are generally not near each other, and if they are, the numbers aren't continuous, even though I know they're numbered sequentially. So there's one building series relating to eschatology, and there's like 245 of them. I'm going to die soon, I know, and the world will die with me if I can't find building #1 and building #245. And they're nowhere to be found. I find buildings 2-7, sitting right next to each other, but building 1 still can't be found. Then I woke up, certain that death was imminent.

Then I went back to sleep again, and had several different dreams about gay sex. Maybe you were there.

That was my morning. My evening was work, and my night was playing Rock Band. It turns out you can drum and sing simultaneously, it's just really fucking hard. God damnit, Trent Reznor.

Friends, I write to you with sad news. My digestive tract is in ruins and I can no longer consume your human food. My belly can only be filled with consumer electronics and rare board games. Please, I beg of you, Buy my stuff so that I can eat another day. The emptiness of my heart demands a PSP, and the gnawing void in my bowels demands a copy of Chainsaw Warrior.

So yeah, selling lots of stuff on ebay so Katie can get a laptop, and possibly me as well. There will be large amounts of RPG books, comics, and PS1 games going up over the next couple days.

Living with Gene, Conrad, and Katie makes me happy. Each day is almost like an anime, and I enjoy it. I usually don't like anime either.

Conrad is growing up and looking like me more and more each day. Such a handsome boy! I hope he inherits my bitterness, love for gaming, and terrible taste. Some day, when I pass away and into a pile of meat, my son will inherit all my terrible and that will make the world whole. He will pass along my life and glory.

On to Katie. Ever since her medicine kicked in, she has become more confident and it has only enhanced her beauty. I watch her everyday; she has a renewed interest in life. It bring me joy to see her actively interact with Conrad and I am glad she enjoys him so much. She has given up so many material possesions lately and the house looks so much better because of it. I think I have fallen in love with her more deeply than I could imagine. I feel so bad for hurting her last year.

Gene and I are a good team at Game Nite. Gene handles crowd control and I handle the boring stuff. After work, we come home and hang out. It's really nice to have someone like him around. I think he has taught Katie some good traits, like how to not care what people think of you and that you can cut people out of your life because they are drama queens.

I am a little stressed out. Work gets to me sometimes, even though I mostly enjoy it. After Christmas, I am going to look for a new job because I like having nice things and Katie deserves so much more than scraping by. I need to set a good example for Conrad. I need to be able to pay for my car.

So, today I have made a resolve. All my enemies are made of meat. I shall eat them between a kaiser roll with ketchup. Everything tastes better with ketchup. I think that the Statue of Liberty would taste better with it as well. I think I'll eat my couch. I think I will eat my Playstation so I can absorb it's power. Domo domo domo domo Wrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!111!!!#$()*#NDIO

KTHX bai now. I have to go read Something Awful and smoke some cigarettes because they make me look cool. I have to get the lung parasites out. I have to make the pain within me go away. I am more sad on the inside than a person who didn't eat lunch. I am the man who ate the universe.

For the softhearted types, it will be an emotional day. For the hardhearted assholes, it will be a callousness marathon that no one wins. We will see into your heart, and you too will cry.

There will be three movies:
Schlinder's List
Grave of the Fireflies
Open slot (I'm narrowing down depressing movies, but it's still open to suggestions)

After the movies, probably board games. If I can drag my ass out of bed early enough, I'm going in for a nine-hour shift tomorrow, going home to rest for a couple hours, and then returning for another four hours. Any assistance at all would be highly appreciated. Don't have any cash to offer, but the favor still stands. I could even lift the fugly restriction, if you are strong like ox. Any help before 9:30 pm would be arranging the new store, or cleaning out/breaking down fixtures in the old one. After 9:30 would be moving additional fixtures/files/useful objects to the new store, plus finishing cleaning out the old store. I don't like relying on other people for help, but I'm approaching the limit of how much energy I can put into this right now.

On another note, once this shit is done, I should be able to finish working on the house.
Hopefully everybody had a happy valentine's day. Mine was fantastic, but now I'm at work and grumpy. How hard is it for people to check their damn answering machines? Or possibly check back when they've placed an order? I'm sorry you didn't get your copy of bass fishing monopoly for christmas, but it's not my fault you can't listen to your answering machine and now I'm stuck with a game that will never sell. Niche retail sucks.

Well, that was bitchier than I was planning on. Oh well. Link time. In an effort to distract people from the fact that the band peaked over a decade ago, Nine Inch Nails is releasing a dystopian concept album promoted by a big ol' ARG. Blah blah theocracy, blah bioterrorism. The depressing part is that there's potential for a clever and engaging, if unoriginal, story here, and there's decent art direction being thrown at it. The problem is that for all this work, the payoff is being sold something. More energy is now put into the marketing of products than the products themselves. Not an original observation, I know, but it bears repeating. Jesus, I feel old.

Anything about non-electronic gaming will be headed to my work blog.
To quote Randall from Clerks, "This job would be great if it weren't for the fucking customers." Mostly true in my case. I enjoy finding products to carry, I enjoy demoing games, I like selling them to people and trying to find the best game for them. I feel kinda sad when they ask "Is it like monopoly?" I die a little inside when someone buys LCR. I get a little annoyed with people that come in, look around in distaste, and leave. I get more annoyed with "Why would people still play board games?" I hate whiny mallrats with every fiber of my being. I was slightly amused by this douchebag.

Regulars are a whole other story, though. Some of them I like. They're fun to talk to, make the day go faster, and buy things occasionally, which means I get to keep eating. Some of them I hang with outside of work. These are outweighed by the bad regulars. One actively encourages other people not to spend money at the store, but will hang out for hours. There's a teenage angst-bucket who alternates between telling me that "tarno" cards will summon the devil, and confiding in my his psychic intuitions of the future. Some of them are just dangerously, brutally retarded. The funny thing is that the really obnoxious ones never spend money. Ever. Most of the regulars that are big spenders will just walk in, plunk down a purchase, chat for a minute and leave. Once someone becomes a regular, the money spent (in total quantity, not average over time) is usually inversely proportional to time spent in store. Odd.
